Step of faith

How do you seek to please God? Praying? Giving? Serving? Loving others? With the right heart, these all certainly please the Lord. However, there's one other thing that God places at the tippy top of priority in scripture as it relates to pleasing Him ... it's believing in His crucified, risen and royally enthroned Son, Jesus Christ. All that we do for God must flow from believing in Jesus. However, authentic, true 'belief' in Jesus isn't something that we can just grab off the shelf when we need it. It must be genuine. It must be real. It must have come from God Himself. But how do we get, keep and grow this belief from God?

In tomorrow's sermon, as we finish John chapter 4, we'll look at how John culminates the first four chapters in a grand finally, showing us exactly how to please God, and the only way to acquire true authentic 'belief' in Christ. (See if you can figure it out. I challenge you to re-read the first four chapters of John in one sitting!)
